As a brand, we treasure authenticity. We care deeply about how and where our garments are made and the long-term effect this will have on our delicate planet.
It is our mission to reduce our impact, across all facets of our business; to design purposefully and responsibly, with longevity at the forefront of everything we do.
We believe in buying fewer but better, with slow fashion at the core of our brand ethos.
POSSE is seasonless and trendless. Our pieces are consciously made with impeccable craftsmanship, designed to last a lifetime.
To avoid mass production, we produce in limited quantities and will only re-stock an item if it is part of our core range or is guaranteed a full sell-through.
Our Fabrications
Here at POSSE, we are committed to using a range of carefully sourced, luxury fabrications to ensure the highest standard of quality is being met.
With the help from our manufacturing partners, we are dedicated to using the most sustainable materials we can source. We work with a number of fabrications including OEKO-TEX linen, GOTS organic cotton, BCI cotton and responsibly sourced wool.
OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 - All of the linens in our core range are certified by OEKO-TEX Standard 100. This means they are completely free from harmful chemicals and substances. Our linens are soft, breathable and get better with every wear.
GOTS CERTIFIED - (Global Organic Textile Standard) - A number of our POSSE pieces are made from GOTS certified organic cotton. Organic cotton is grown without the use of pesticides, from seeds which have not been genetically modified. Organic cotton uses 91% less water and emits 46% less CO2 emissions than conventional cotton, having a significantly better impact on both our people and our planet.
RWS certification - Our knitted garments are made from RWS certified wool. This is a responsible wool standard that addresses the welfare of sheep and the land they graze on, ensuring fair treatment of animals as well as respect for the environment.
BCI certification - The Better Cotton Initiative is a set of on-farm best practices covering social and environmental issues like pesticides, water, soil health and wellbeing. Their aim is to make cotton farming a more climate-resilient, environmentally friendly and responsible business.
Our Packaging
POSSE is currently in the process of implementing a brand new, sustainable packaging suite. Over the past year, we have been working hard with an environmental consultant to ensure that every element of our new packaging is made from sustainable and recyclable materials.
Our current packaging contains biodegradable, compostable, and recycled materials as outlined below;
Garment Bags
Our garment bags are made from degradable plastic.
Post Satchels
Our post satchels are made from 100% compostable mailers.
Cardboard Boxes
We use 100% recyclable cardboard boxes to ship larger POSSE orders containing three or more articles of clothing.

i=change
POSSE has been a proud partner of i=change since 2021. We donate $1 from every sale to one of three charities, chosen by our customers at checkout. To date, we have raised $30,000 AUD through this platform. We regularly update our supporting charities and are currently supporting the below projects:

Worn For Good
Worn For Good was born as an antidote to fast fashion and a vote toward a more circular economy, with 100% of profits donated to charity. POSSE has donated excess stock to Worn For Good to be re-sold and given a second life.

Thread Together
Thread Together extends the life cycle of clothing by keeping it in circulation. POSSE donates samples, archived stock and end-of-line items to Thread Together who then distribute these pieces to people in need through their network of charities and social service agencies.

The Archive Place
The Archive Place’s mission is to empower the community and extend the life-cycle of fashion. They enable brands to re-circulate their archive pieces and give them a second life to ensure they don’t end up in landfill. POSSE makes regular donations of archived stock to The Archive Place.
Modern slavery statement
POSSE stands by the notion that everyone, everywhere has the right to a life free from slavery, hence we do not condone Modern Slavery in any form. This includes the use of violence or coercion to recruit workers, forced or bonded labour, descent-based labour, child labour or any behaviour that undermines the freedoms or rights of a human being.
We are deeply committed to protecting the rights and well-being of all people connected to our business and within our supply chain and ensuring that everyone is treated fairly and respectfully.
POSSE does not tolerate Modern Slavery, we exist to ensure all people connected to the business are properly paid and work under pre-approved conditions. As per this acknowledgment, it is a requirement that our partners do not condone or operate any form of coercion that undermines the freedoms or rights of a human being.
ANIMAL WELFARE
POSSE does not currently use any animal products or by-products of any kind.
If POSSE does plan on using animal products or by-products in the future, all of our factories have signed our Animal Welfare Policy to ensure our manufacturing and sourcing of animal products is done so with respect to their welfare and rights.
We respect the 5 Animal Freedoms and ask that our suppliers sign and agree to these and that they follow these principles in their operations.
- Freedom from Hunger and Thirst - by ready access to fresh water and a diet to maintain full health and vigour.
- Freedom from Discomfort - by providing an appropriate environment including shelter and a comfortable resting area.
- Freedom from Pain, Injury or Disease - by prevention or rapid diagnosis and treatment.
- Freedom to Express Normal Behaviour - by providing sufficient space, proper facilities and company of the animal’s own kind.
- Freedom from Fear and Distress - by ensuring conditions and treatment which avoid mental suffering.
SUPPLIER CODE OF CONDUCT
At POSSE, we are committed to working alongside suppliers who share the same ethos as we do, to manufacture responsibly and ethically. This kind of partnership means that everyone is working towards the same goal and vision, maintaining those same values to create and make a difference.
Our code of conduct outlines the minimum standards of ethical, social and environmental behaviour which must be met by POSSE and all manufacturing partners of POSSE.
