With Shereen Mohammad
We asked our dear friend Shereen Mohammad to share her collection of tried-and-true spots to wander, dine and shop in her beloved hometown of New York.
Discover Shereen’s personalised city guide below.
Morning coffee at...
I venture out to my neighborhood spots in Bedstuy, Brooklyn. Corto is my favorite go-to.
Where to eat?
The Four Horsemen in Williamsburg.
Where to stay?
I was raised in the East Village, but if I were visiting NYC, I’d stay in a tree-lined brownstone apartment in Brooklyn, and take the train to Manhattan to explore as much as possible. Fort Greene, Clinton Hill and Bedstuy are homey neighborhoods with a community feel.
An afternoon wine/spritz at...
Anaïs in Brooklyn Heights or Rhodora in Fort Greene.
Favourite museum/art gallery?
Jacqueline Sullivan Gallery in Tribeca showcases my favourite art and designs.
Best area for vintage shopping?
Lower east side, Desert Vintage.
What to pack?
Pack your favorite outfits that are appropriate for the weather and feel free to doll up! I personally wouldn’t wear heels though. New Yorkers can spot a tourist wearing 3+ inch heels.
Brooklyn favourites
Bar lunatico is by far my favourite place to go for a night out with live performances. You can check out the calendar beforehand to see who’s performing or head over any night blindly for a sweet surprise.
